Over on the Conservative website Free Republic, the unrelenting war mounted by evolutionary atheists and their 'new' Christian counterparts against the essay "Falling Stars, Damnable Heresy, and the Spirit of Evolution" continues unabated and has caused the thread to top 1300 posts.
Evolutionary atheists and their 'new' Christian counterparts are of that 'new' race of evolved men long foretold and longed for by modernists such as Nietzsche, Marxist Communists, Fascists, utopianists and various humanists. What is the New Man? Whereas the Apostle Paul referred collectively to the fallen Old Man of humanity and a resurrected New Man following Jesus, modernism's New Man is 'new' by virtue of his independence from the Triune God. The New Man is not Imago Dei but rather the conscious product of evolution. He is an evolving spirit who is his own reference point, meaning there is no mind, no authority, no meaning higher than his own.
New Men, whether 'Christian' or secular, willfully oppose their own word against the Word of God and reject the miraculous, historical and literal elements of the Bible, particularly of Genesis, in favor of natural science and evolution. They persuasively argue that this scientifically enlightened course of action is entirely compatible with belief in God, though their God is nothing more than a man-controlled deity that jump-starts the Big Bang in order to set evolution in motion.
Despite prophetic warnings, “new” Christian theologians deform and twist the Scriptures to make them fit their own opinions and lack of faith, hoping thereby to give a pseudo-biblical authority to their evolutionary beliefs rather than allowing the Lord to say what He means:
“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it” (Deuteronomy 4:2).
“Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar” (Proverbs 30:6).
"If any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life” (Revelation 22:19).
From past to present such practices have generated a plethora of heresies and Gnostic cults. This was in essence Christ’s view of the Pharisees:
“In vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:9).
Despite the efforts of one sophistical 'new' Christian to disguise his atheism, arrogance and hostility behind a friendly smiley-faced mask, rather than opaque his mask is porous, meaning that telling statements keep slipping through. For example:
“The issue here is whether any such “special revelation” qualifies as “natural science”?
The real issue, the truth of the matter not-so-deftly implied by this example of arrogant, clumsy sophistry is that, like a long line of evolutionary atheists before him, the 'new' Christian is in rebellion against the God of Revelation as He revealed Himself to man in Jesus Christ:
"Christianity is the most complete and perfect revelation we know of the nature of God and of God's will for man." The basic insights of the Christian faith "provide the best insights we have into the nature of man and of the crisis in which we find ourselves." (John Hallowell, 1950, Intellectual Conservative Movement in America, George H. Nash, p. 53)
It is the living, personal God Who revealed Himself to man in Jesus Christ that 'new' Christians and their secular counterparts are in rebellion against. A nonliving, mindless God-force without Will that men can mold, shape, manage and speak for is just fine, as is a mortal Christ, a mere man who, like the New Man, is the conscious product of evolution.
The truth is that evolutionary atheists and their 'new' Christian counterparts are not New Men but fallen Old Men, thus they prefer the word of sinful men over the Revelation of God and are the intellectual heirs of a way of thinking that from the beginning,
“... has been characterized by a desire to be free from the burden of Christianity...As a rebellion against Christianity, its negative goal defined its positive form: the desire to remove the church and replace it with the state gave liberalism its structure, beliefs, and goals.” (Worshipping the State: How Liberalism became Our State Worship, Benjamin Wiker)
Wiker writes that as far back as the Renaissance the strong impulse to throw off the restraints of the personal God and Christianity was already at work in certain Churchmen and intellectuals, hence their eventual embrace of materialism (i.e., natural science, naturalism, Darwinism, evolutionary biology, empiricism, methodological naturalism, reductionism):
“The desire to be liberated from the constraints of Christianity was the original reason for modern liberalism’s embrace of a world defined entirely by materialism—the view that there are no immaterial entities like God of the soul, but only physical entities. This embrace of materialism began as far back as the Renaissance. And the same impulse was behind the nineteenth-century enthusiasm for scientific materialism, and it remains a staple of liberalism today.” (ibid, Benjamin Wiker)
Contemporary New Men are rebels against the living, personal God of Revelation and of a mind with demonized antitheists such as Karl Marx and other revolutionaries who, though not the devil, did his work for him.
Marx, the father of the Communist Manifesto, declared that his war is against God and the world created by Him. In his poem, “The Pale Maiden” he admits the existence of the God of Revelation, the existence of heaven, that he is Imago Dei, and further, that he knows hell exists but that eternal damnation is his willful choice:
“Thus heaven I’ve forfeited; I know it full well; My soul, once true to God; Is chosen for hell.” (Marx & Satan, Richard Wurmbrand, p. 22)
Marx's revolutionary comrade, Mikhail Bakunin, admits he is a Satanist:
“The Evil One is the satanic revolt against divine authority....Socialists recognize each other by the words, “In the name of the one to whom a great wrong has been done....Satan (is) the eternal rebel, the first freethinker and the emancipator of worlds.” (Mikhail Bakunin, comrade of Marx, ibid, p. 27)
A Communist newspaper makes clear that Satanists are trying to snatch believers from God:
“We do not fight against believers (or) even clergymen....We fight against God to snatch believers from Him.” (Vetchernaia Moskva, a Communist newspaper, ibid, p.77)
The Satanic revolt, like supernatural Christian faith, is a movement of spirit but having its taproot and energy in Satan, the father of pride, envy and lies, the 'god' of this world and inventor of evolutionary cosmogonies, naturalism, materialism, 'new' Christianity, and heresy. He is the author of rebellion, and the revelator of secrets contrived to damn unto hell.
Satanic revolt is war against the supernatural Trinity...the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, which in Bakunin’s words are the “cursed and fatal principle of authority.”
Thus it proclaims the reign of negation: of God’s Revelation, creation ex nihilo, miracles, the divinity of Christ, immutable Truth, Moral Law, Imago Dei, Heaven, angels, the devil, demons and hell.
The sentiment of the revolt is Satanic pride:
”.... which spurns subjection to any master whatever, whether of divine or human origin.” (Bakunin, Nihilism: The Root of the Revolution of the Modern Age, Fr. Seraphim Rose, p. 63)
The nature of the Satanic revolt is the antithesis of the supernatural Christian faith. Whereas Christian faith is joy, patience, love, truth, humbleness, perseverance, submission in all things to the Will of God and blessed eternal life in Paradise, the Satanic counterfeit is skepticism, doubts, destructive criticism, slander, lies, sophistry, revulsion, burning envy, impatience, seething hatred, jealousy, rebelliousness, blasphemy, and eternal life in Hell.
By his unintended confession, the 'new' Christian admits that he prefers the damning errors, heresy and sophistry of evolutionary thinking to what he derisively describes as the "so-called" Revelation of God and His will for men. This is why, in a further abuse of will, he insists on God’s Revelation to man being subordinate to natural science:
“The issue here is whether any such “special revelation” qualifies as “natural science”? The answer is: obviously not, and that is pretty much the only major point I’ve been hoping to make.”
From the time of Adam and Eve, proud, self-centered, rebellious men have been abusing the gift of will to choose self-gratification, service to themselves and whatever it is they want. But beware your choice, your abuse of will, for at some unknown, unperceived moment it will become eternal. Heaven is real. So is the hell chosen by Marx.
