The Infernally Acute Dangers of Occult Evolutionary Science

The problem with modernity, said G.K. Chesterton, is the program and attitude of scientism, a serpent,

" slippery as an eel," a " elusive as an elf," an "evil and elusive creature." (The Restitution of Man, Michael D. Aeschliman, p. 43)

Strong words, but entirely applicable given the inevitable darkeness in the form of intolerance and hostility toward and condemnation of creation ex nihilo and the faithful who affirm it that eventually overtakes the minds of evolutionary humanists, both atheist and theological. Consider the following:

1. In Kirktonholme primary school, East Kilbride, Scotland, Headteacher Alexandra MacKenzie and her deputy Elizabeth Mockus were redeployed to backroom duties while an investigation was to be carried out. A number of parents had complained about two books which had been handed out to their children during a school assembly. One answered the question ‘How you know God is real?’ and the other was titled ‘Exposing the myth of evolution.’ (The attack on biblical creation in UK schools continues, Phil Robinson,

2. A parent and also a Member of the Scottish Parliament have called for an investigation, after a physics teacher, Leonard Rogers, during a discussion on the big bang with his class at a school in Midlothian, informed them that evolution was not proven. Apparently, he also told the class that he was a Christian with strong creationist beliefs. (ibid)

3. As a result of the first two news stories, the Scottish Secular Society called for the ban of creationism in science classes in Scottish schools. While they acknowledged that they had no issue with pupils understanding that not everyone accepts evolution, they stated that the only place that creationism had in Scottish schools was “within a discussion context in religious and moral education classes”. (ibid)

4. Professor Alice Roberts, in an interview with the Times Education Supplement (London), has called for new laws in the UK to extend the ban of teaching creationism beyond state-run schools to all independent schools, which would include privately run Christian schools.10 (ibid)

5. During a radio interview in Australia famous physicist and atheist propagandist Lawrence Krauss said that while in the United States recently, I stated that "teaching creationism is child abuse and I think it is." (Prayer News, a publication of Creation Ministries, Apr. 2014)

The vicious name-calling, seething resentment toward and censorship of six day creation ex nihilo and of all who profess and teach it should raise the eyebrows of any rational thinking person. If the evidence for evolution really is so overwhelming why the anger, name-calling, ridicule, scorn, shunning, resentment and intolerance? Why can no challenges be discussed?

What is Wrong with Evolutionary Humanists?

What is wrong with them is connected to why they reject creation ex nihilo, a spiritual pathology analyzed by the great Russian thinker and theologian Vladimir Soloviev (1853-1900) in his "Tale of the Antichrist."   In his book Soloviev predicts and examines many of the signs of our times, especially the sign pertaining to all people, especially apostatizing theologians, who refuse to acknowledge their own sinful condition.   According to Soloviev, the advancing dechristianization of the whole body of the church is due to the betrayal of the Way of Christ by faithless theologians and like-minded intellectuals who choose to stay within the church and work their transformative evil.   Soloviev characterizes this particular sign as the Spirit of our age, the Spirit of apostasy that will find completion in the Antichrist.

Another important sign is a "form of science" by which proud, rebellious theologians, intellectuals and the virulent antitheists and atheists they have produced magnify themselves above the Revealed Word, and either conceptually 'murder' God or make Him subject to laws of science so as to magnify themselves while persuading the uninformed, easily intimidated, fearful and carnal 'inner circle' seekers to accept non-Christian (pagan) traditions and inventions such as evolution:

"Evolution itself is accepted by zoologists not because it has been observed to occur or....can be proved by logically coherent evidence to be true, but because the only alternative, special creation, is clearly incredible."  (Idols for Destruction: The Conflict of Christian Faith and American Culture, Herbert Schlossberg, p. 145)

The common tactic employed by evolutionary theologians and intellectuals involves the reduction of the Genesis account, particularly the first three books, to allegory and myth, a ploy that eliminates the physical Adam from which all people descended and the sin that he transferred to the rest of the human race. This strikes directly at the heart of the Gospel: the need for the ‘last Adam’ to provide for us an escape from the wrath of God against sin incurred by the first Adam.   In this way, not only is the work of Christ on the cross rendered superfluous, meaning the heart of the faith is ripped out, but God is made responsible for sin and evil.

There is nothing new about this tactic.  Long ago, the teachings of certain ancient Church Fathers regarding the apostasy toward the end of the church age predicted the reappearance of this ploy. The fathers categorized it a Gnostic pagan heresy.

In "Heresies 6.10" Hipolytus writes that Simon Magus feigned faith and allegorized much of Scripture, especially Genesis, to support his evolutionary Hermetic and Gnostic occult pantheist teachings.   Church Fathers Ireneaus, Tertullian and Clement of Alexandria reveal that Gnostic cult leader Marcion rejected the Old Testament, taught that the God of the Old Testament and his prophets are evil, made God the author of sin and removed all references that Christ was Creator (John 1:1)   (Ireneaus, "Against Heresies 1.26, 5.1," Tertullian "Against Marcion 2.17," Clement of Alexandria, "Against Heresies 4.29)

In this light the identity of the second sign (the form of science) is revealed as occult and/or magic science.   According to the Catholic philosopher and historian, Thomas Molnar (1921-2010) occult science and its' constant companion, evolution, emerged in the heart of Christendom when certain theologians, mystics and scholars such as Emanuel Swedenborg had discovered ancient occult Hermetic magic and Jewish Kabbalah texts which they translated resulting in Hermetic Kabbalah. Then like Pico della Mirandola, they argued that this occult science – the divine technology or ancient Magic Way of reaching divine status and powers through ritual procedures and spiritual evolution is the best proof of the divinity of Christ. In other words said Molnar,

" the time of the Renaissance the esoteric texts of the first centuries A.D. had acquired in scholarly and humanist circles an unparalleled prestige, confronting as equals the texts held sacred by the church. In Pico's estimation, 'nulla est scientia que nos magis certificet de divinitate Christ quam magia et Cabala' (there is no science that would prove for us Christ's divinity better than magic and the Cabala.)" (pp. 78-79)

Occultism is the ‘science’ and worldview of fallen angels, hence it is arcane knowledge of the hidden dimension, its' animated powers and possibilities. This occult gnosis is meant for adepts, initiates and fellow practitioners of the magic way that originated in Babylon.

Occult sciences include, but are not limited to, Hermetic magic, alchemy, astrology, divination, and spiritualism (contact with spirits). Interpretation of occultism and its concepts can be found in nature philosophies, and occult nature systems such as Gnosticism, Theosophy, Wicca, Satanism, Thelema, Theosophy, international Luciferian Masonry and esoteric evolutionary science.

In the impeccably researched "Scientific Analysis of the Writings of Alice A. Bailey and their Applications,"  Robert A. Hermann Ph.D. traces modern evolutionary science – which has infiltrated and corrupted much of the whole body of the Christian Church – back to 1750 and the Spanish-French occultist the Martine's de Pasqually (1715?-1779) whose biological conception predates Darwin's theory and held that an adept spiritually evolves into higher and higher forms on various evolutionary levels. (

The occult way of intellectual and moral transcendence was made possible by the devil’s agents who invented theories of spiritual/cosmic evolution.   Molnar writes that travelers on this highway were characteristically recruited from theology.  For example:

“.....Bergson, Laberthonniere, Le Roy, Blondel, Bloch, Teilhard de Chardin, Heidegger, Bultmann, Karl Rahner, and numerous others…”  (God and the Knowledge of Reality, p. 133)

Renaissance occultists paved the way for the rationalism of the European Enlightenment.   Rationalism glorified the mind of sinful man rather than the Word of God.   These seeds of corruption erupted into a huge outpouring of anti-God, anti-Christian endeavor resulting in the subordination of the Word of God to the findings of occult science and evolutionary thinking which in turn opened the door for yet more corruption in the 19th century: theological liberalism (evolutionary pantheism) and 'higher criticism.'
Theological liberalism and its' primary doctrine evolution, developed in Germany.  Its first real manifestation was at the University of Tubingen where Ferdinand Baur (1792-1860) had formed a school of faux theology for the purpose of raising doubts about the Bible.  This evil scheme was designed to undermine the Revealed Word as the exclusive fount of truth.  Among areas which came under suspicion were the Genesis account, the person of Christ, the fall and human sin, the authority of Scripture, the transcendence of God, the Way of salvation, and the doctrine of the Christian Church.  (From Old Gnosticism to New Age, Alan Morrison, SCP Journal, Vol. 28:4-29:1, 2005, pp. 32-33)

 Theological liberalism owed much to the occult Hermetic pantheist philosophy of George Hegel (1770-1811).   Hegel was an important member of the occult 'theological' brotherhood that emerged out of the Renaissance.  His early writings were very much influenced by Christoph Oetinger (1702-1782), the gnostic occult Kabbalist and disciple of Renaissance Hermetic-Kabbalists such as Emanuel Swedenborg and Jakob Boehme (1575-1624). Hegels’ dialectic, or pantheist theory of historical evolution, dovetailed neatly with liberal theology’s evolutionary pantheism and its’ outrageous claim that Christianity was a hybrid religion of the Near East. This period also saw the appearance of 'higher criticism,' the evil-twin of theological liberalism.   Higher criticism cast suspicion upon the authorship and dating of the books of the Bible in a further attempt to undermine the truth-claims of Scripture.  Such devilish exploration cast suspicion upon the identity of the historical Jesus, typified in the anti-supernaturalistic book, "The Life of Jesus," written in 1835 by Baur's pupil, D.F. Strauss (1808-1874). (ibid)
When Darwin published his theory, the devil’s servants of sin eagerly embraced it, as with this development the Spirit of our age set its’ dictatorial seal of 'science' on a critical, rationalistic, and skeptical approach to the Word of God that elevates the mind of sinful man, occult science, and evolution above the Word of God.

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction." Proverbs 1: 7  '"Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done." Romans 1:28

The Spirit of our age is man who has lost his faith, led into unbelief by foolish theological 'clay' that has usurped the throne of the Potter because the clay covets control of His divine powers.  The fool is thus a defiant, covetous thief whose stubborn pride leads him to despise and reject the Revelation of God, particularly the literal and historic elements of the Genesis account of creation in favor of his own fallible reasoning, spurious theories, and fallacious occult science-gnosis (i.e., billions of years of evolution from primordial matter to man).   Digging himself in yet deeper, the foolish Spirit transfers his own sins, failings and weaknesses onto the faithful in order that he can crucify them for holding fast to the Word and Authority of the Lord.

Without Revelation from God however, the fool is unable to understand himself, to know who and what he is, what is wrong with himself and what needs to be done about it.  So deeply deluded is the fool that he cannot see that by the logic of his position he has made himself into a broken cistern that cannot hold water. (Jeremiah 2:3)  Furthermore, he believes in vain that he is safe when in fact he has made a covenant with death, and with hell he is agreement for he has made lies his refuge, and under falsehood does he hide himself.   (Isaiah 28:15)

So what higher Truths from our Lord has the fool in his depravity denied to himself and to all who are persuaded by him?

Beginning with the literal and historic elements of Genesis:

"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground; and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Gen. 2:7

Here God reveals three points for our consideration.  First, God instructs us that He formed the body of man from physical matter as the potter does the clay.   To this initial act Job refers when he says,

"Remember, I beseech Thee, that Thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt Thou bring me into dust again?" Job 10:9

God teaches us that He formed Adam's body from physical matter and then breathed into it "the breath of life" producing a twofold life, sensual and spiritual.   Here God reveals to us that life is only with Him.  It does not magically evolve from lifeless matter or energy resulting from an inexplicable cosmic explosion (Big Bang).   Life was not seeded on earth by highly evolved extraterrestrials nor did mankind incrementally evolve from lower life forms over billions of years.  Life is from the living God, thus His breath of life instantaneously, in the twinkling of an eye, became the spirit of man, the principle of life within him which as the Lord reveals to us, "is the spirit that quickens." (John 6:63; 2 Cor. 3:6)

We are taught in Proverbs 20:27 that the human spirit is "the lamp of the Lord that sheds light on one's inmost being."    Spirit is the unique property that distinguishes soul from the physical matter of the body.   Spirit is immortal.  It can will, self-reflect and think.    In Biblical thought, spirit allows man to spiritually transcend the natural dimension in order to access the supernatural dimension, thereby allowing him to enter into a personal relationship with the Spirit of God. Through this relationship, man's conscience is cleansed over time and his spirit regenerated, thus enabling him to more perfectly orient the manner of his existence in this world in preparation for eternity.

In Christian thought, a person is a spirit and personality is the total individuality of the spirit. Without spirit there is no person.

The key to individual liberty in the temporal sphere is man's spiritual liberty contrasted against a genetically programmed animal-like orientation. Animals have souls but not spirits, which are linked to intelligence, imagination, conscience, sensitivity, self-consciousness, reflection and the capacity for truth and moral goodness. A person is uniquely free because his spirit can spiritually transcend the physical matter of his own body to access the supernatural dimension as Paul affirms:

"Now the Lord is Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." (2 Cor. 3:17)

It is vitally important that we not confuse our own spirit with the substance of the Spirit of God as do Eastern pantheists and their apostate Western counterparts: liberal pantheist Christianity, evolutionary Christianity, the New Physics, and occult New Age.  Scripture plainly distinguishes the substance of God from the spirit of man. (Ro. 8:16)

So far, we now know by what God has revealed  to us, that Adam was made up of two independent substances, the physical body and the spirit.   But when God placed the spirit within the body of Adam the combination of these instantaneously produced a third part, his soul, thus Adam became a living soul:

"The essence of the human is not the body, but the soul....For the sake of the soul...the Son of God came into the world...." (Incomplete Work on Matthew, Homily 25, Ancient Christian Devotional, Oden and Crosby, p. 153)

A human life is a soul which informs inert matter, thus a body without a soul is no more than a mass of cells that would quickly disintegrate.

The soul is our self-conscious part, it is the seat of our emotions (which proceed from the senses of the body).  It is "who you are."  Soul allows communication between body (sense-part) and spirit (God-consciousness). (Luke 1: 46-47)

Early Church Father Tertullian describes the soul as the covering for spirit and the body that of the soul.  Adam therefore was a living soul in the sense that spirit and body were merged in the third part, the soul.  The soul as the uniting medium became the cause of Adam's individual personality.

God made Adam good, but not perfect, because He well-knew the great obstacle to perfection: abuse of free will.  Perfection must wait until men had passed the danger of abusing His gifts, thereby falling as the sinful angels had done before them.  Thus Adam was made good, and before he fell there was perfect harmony between his three natures, hence he knew nothing of the ceaseless strivings and disordered emotions (pride, impatience, anger, boredom, greed, lust, hate, covetousness) of spirit and body that have been the daily experience of fallen men since the disobedience of Adam and Eve.

As we have seen, when God made Adam and Eve they consisted of three parts, spirit, soul, and body, and of these three, the soul has predominated in its power over the body since Adam's fall. (Heb. 4:12; 1 Thessalonians 5:23)

However, in eternity (physical Paradise), the spirit of the redeemed will once again predominate. Perfect harmony will be restored, but this time with spirit once again elevated to the throne we shall become conscious of glorious powers which we can now neither apprehend nor imagine.  In place of the soul with its disordered passions and fallible, deceptive, inconsistent, illogical reasoning, our Lord's redeemed children shall be gifted with glorious powers, perfect peace and unerring perception of the Truth and  Righteousness  which is the prerogative of untainted spirits.

In the meantime, even in the case of those who have been born again, meaning their spirits are being cleansed and regenerated, the intellectual faculty is still so incompetent that though such people possess Truth in Divine Revelation they are nevertheless, as Paul tells us, able for the present to know and understand it only in part. 

The Fall 

The disobedience of Adam resulted in spiritual separation from God.  Spirit (God-consciousness) was at first reduced to the state of an almost silent bystander, then as its light faded and disappeared it could no longer either preserve Adam and Eve's bodies from decay or clothe them in glory.   The threat of God was now an accomplished fact; the reign of death and suffering had begun.   With the death of spirit, the soul, manifested sometimes in error-prone, prideful intellectuality, faulty reasoning, hypocrisy, vain imaginings, and futile conceptions, sometimes in sensuality, and often both, would reign over spiritually dead man, who is now natural man.  Natural man is unable to hold intercourse with God save when momentarily roused by the Spirit of the Lord to a sense of responsibility.  This state of affairs is what Jude refers to when he speaks of the natural men who cause divisions, contentions and strife; the  men devoid of the Spirit. Jude 1:19 (Earth's Earliest Ages, G.H. Pember)

"....they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away." Psalm 64: 8

The soulish intellect of the natural man is not merely fallible but the most dangerous of all gifts from God unless guided by the Spirit of God.  It is a deceitful instrument at best, capable of calling evil good and good evil.  The blinding pride of natural man makes matters much worse, for when such a man sets his heart upon an idea, such as Renaissance theolgians with their Hermetic-Kabbalah,  liberal theologians with their evolutionary 'Christianity,' Darwin with his evolutionary theory, and Teilhard de Chardin with his evolution-based New Religion, the considerable powers of sinful man's soul are used for the single-minded purpose of dominating the will and reason of other souls, of altering their perception of reality by making foolish, vain inventions and illusions as persuasive and like reality as possible.  In this way, spiritually-darkened souls can mesmerize and lead unsuspecting, spiritually-undiscerning souls astray.

The common denominator of all of these devilish inventions is naturalism, and this goes for progressive creationism and evolutionary theism.  In order for any of these inventions to work, God must either be "murdered" or be made subject to the laws of science, but especially to the clay that covets control and management of Divine Power.  Toward this goal, God must be accessible, meaning He must be here, in the natural dimension, and this implies that idolatrous man shares the substance of God.

According to the inner logic of naturalism, all things, including human beings, are subject to the evolving, unfolding universe of energy.   With regard to man's soul (rational nature), it differs not qualitatively but only quantitatively from the beasts.  Like the beasts, man is not a person created in the spiritual image of the One God in three Persons but rather a creature of nature.  Like them he has no spirit.

Making man's soul the same as the beasts and denying the existence of spirit (God-consciousness) is how naturalistic systems deal with the problem of sin and evil resulting from man's fallen condition.    In other words, denial of his own sins, failings and weaknesses coupled to their transference onto outside sources is how the proud natural man responds to his suffering.

The men listed above had all known the personal, transcendent God but in their pride, resentment and rebellion chose to "do things their own way." But in turning away from the Triune God comes the reversal of conversion in which the partially generated spirit falls back into spiritual sleep or death.   Thus the soul ceases to live from the spirit (God consciousness) and begins to live once more with the senses of the body. The disordered passions thereby revive eventually resulting in the reprobate of Romans 1:28. (St. Tikhon, Works II, as quoted in Political Apocalypse: A Study of Dostoevsky's Grand Inquisitor, Ellis Sandoz, p. 120)

The Prescription

For those not yet given over by God it is not too late for regeneration of spirit and moral character:

"..... I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life..."  Deuteronomy 30:19-20

The Second Person of the Holy Trinity, the Word become Flesh, Jesus Christ the Physician came to heal the spiritually sick. But whoever rejects the Physician, whether through indifference or denial of the Revelation of God in favor of the corrupted wisdom of man and his arcane science, rejects His prescription, thus in his madness plays the part of a fool by destroying him or herself.
