America's Transformation Into a Collectivist Mystical Pantheist god-State

The announcement of the death of God was the obituary of a useless single-minded and one-dimensional norm of a civilization that has been predominantly monotheistic, not only in its religion, but also in its politics, its history, its social order, its ethics, and its psychology.  When released from the tyrannical imperialism of monotheism by the death of God, man has the opportunity of discovering new dimensions hidden in the depths of reality’s history.”  (The New Polytheism: The Rebirth of the Gods and Goddesses, ‘death of God theologian’ David LeRoy Miller, vii)

Since the ‘death of God’ and the Sexual Liberation movement of the '60s, America has been experiencing an explosion of religiously pagan movements in concert with a relentless assault on the Revealed Word of God, the Genesis account of creation ex nihilo, immutable truth, reality, first principles, universal moral law, and the created order of being---the two sexes (male and female) for example. These movements interface with occult Gnosticism, Hinduism, and other mystical pantheist collectivist notions: evolutionary materialism, scientism, Communism, Cultural Marxism, Socialism, social justice, New Age cults, Satanism, transcendental meditation, yoga, Wicca, goddess worship, ‘gay’ shamanism, reincarnation, Luciferian Theosophy, LGBTQ+, sustainability, Gaia worship, deep ecology, channeling, the Great Apes Project and all other animal rights agenda. All are types of pantheist collectivism which stress in one way or another that mankind is ‘one with’ nature (the evolving universe of divine psychic energy and matter) and should therefore make obeisance to it as Sovereign.

In his penetrating analysis of pagan Progressivism, M. Stanton Evans author of "The Theme is Freedom: Religion, Politics, and the American Tradition," observes that it is only against the background of neo-paganism that the bizarre ‘isms’ of Progressive politics come into focus. The common feature of all these movements---naturalism, materialism, sexism, multiculturalism, feminism, determinism, economic determinism, racism, heteronormativism, and patriarchalism for instance, is that they view irrational nature itself as ultimate and sovereign. In other words, they make a god of irrational nature—its laws, energies, and matter---which is precisely why Al Gore is synonymous with Gaia, global warming, and carbon footprints, and the Left in general zealously stresses collectivism (scientific pantheism), solidarity, oneness, inclusion, diversity, and other worldly social justice concerns.  Evans comments:

Much of it, indeed, is pantheism or other nature-worship, dressed up as secularism or science.” Darwinian evolution is the “most influential case in point (as it) explicitly replaces (or identifies) God with physical nature, and in some versions even attributes to nature, or some agency within it, ineffable designs.” (The Theme is Freedom, p. 122)

For almost one-hundred years, the religiously pagan Progressive Left has been engaged in stealthily undermining and gutting our founding documents and America’s religious, social, political, legal, and cultural infrastructures. Toward this end, they’ve managed to infiltrate alien meaning into the Word of God, seminaries and pulpits as well as marginalize and deconstruct the Declaration of Independence—the charter document. Additionally, Progressive change-agents have cleverly infiltrated new and alien meaning into our Constitution. Originally, the individual’s right to liberty was viewed as inalienable because God-given, thus fixed and unchanging.  But with the ‘death’ of the Holy Trinity, powerfully influential pagan and scientific pantheist Progressives stealthily replaced Him with a mystical god-state, redefined the Word (John 1) as divine energy variously identified as evolution, natural selection, kundalini, and christ-consciousness. Subsequently, the Constitution now ‘lives and evolves,’ a quasi-divine amoral Ruling Class has replaced ‘we the people,’ and group privileges (collectivism) are increasingly sweeping away individual rights.

Where originally, each and every human life possesses an ‘inalienable right to life’ was held as an immutable truth and a universal moral good, the politically correct religiously pagan evolutionary materialist view holds that truth and morality are irrelevant and human life without value, dignity, or purpose. Usurping the place of our God-given inalienable right to life is politically correct choice. In reality, choice is a pagan elitist eugenics mentality in disguise, hence it views procreation of undesirables---such as Conservative Christians---as bad, therefore all population control schemes such as euthanasia, abortion, the abomination called partial birth abortion, and sterilization by way of sodomy are ‘good.’

However, despite these and the pagan Left’s many other successful changes toward a satanic inversion of America’s traditional cultural, social, political, and legal order, our Second Amendment rights remain a primary concern to the totalitarian ambitions of America’s pagan Ruling Class.  Our pagan masters want our guns because a weaponless people are a helpless people.

Various pagan Marxists, Secular Humanists and their confederates predicted long ago that they and an interconnected network of Cultural Marxist and other humanist accomplices throughout academia, the entertainment world, government, the church and elsewhere, would bring about the fall of the West by way of a ‘long walk through the culture.’ (1) This diabolically conceived ‘walk’ would incrementally condition our minds, demoralize and corrupt us, and slowly invert our traditional order by disarming, dumbing-down, and putting Westerners ‘to sleep’ (enslaving them) through propaganda of confusion, disinformation, immorality, and “sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll.” Unwary sleepers, it was confidently foretold, would never dream that they would one day awaken to the nightmare world of slavery unfolding all around us.

Over the course of many years those predictions have come true. Today, millions of Americans are an immoral, narcissistic, infantilized people addicted to instant gratification and vices whose addictions are fed and fueled by warped, pornographic, propaganda-spewing media and entertainment. And while vice-addicted Americans have been sleeping, our universities and schools have become transmission belts for the proselytizing of Darwinism, socialism, political correctness, open-borders, New Age pantheism, sexual confusion, non-binary transgender (androgyny), one world collectivism, and hate:  hate-whitey, hate-Conservatives, hate-America, hate truth, hate history, hate free markets, hate straight males, hate-tradition, hate-morality, and hate the Biblical God.

As truth, common sense, morality, and knowledge of our founding Christian-based worldview fades to black, the American mind shuts down in tandem, thereby allowing the ice cap of a new ‘green’ pantheist totalitarianism to relentlessly advance across our nation, snuffing out the light of Christ, liberty and all things good. Under its dark oppressive weight, America is thrust into a black abyss of godless pagan superstition, where at the urging of satan’s pagan Ruling Class tools, 2+2 becomes 5, males are females, females are males, Christmas is increasingly defined as a Festival of Light  (which means occult enlightenment), and with the Supreme Court’s 2015 Obergefell v. Wade decision, America has turned a corner of historic and ominous significance:

"The Declaration of Independence, declaring that rights and laws are endowed by the Creator, has been rendered meaningless by a fake redefining of marriage, with no reference to the Creator or to any objective standards. The charade is over. This decision indicates that what has been happening for some time is finally here for all to see: the USA is clearly a “godless nation.” Let public figures supporting this decision no longer say or sing: “God bless America.” or “Amazing Grace.” It is just as worthless as their view of marriage."  (The Body Politic is Queer, Dr. Peter Jones, truthxchange, Jun. 26, 2015)

America’s founders long ago warned Americans that only a God-fearing, informed, and virtuous people can remain a free people, for these practices lend themselves to impulse control issuing in self-determination and the cultivation of higher reason and logic, hence to individual liberty and our form of self-government. In the words of Patrick Henry---Christian patriot, governor of Virginia, revolutionary general, “The Voice of Liberty,’ and signer of the U.S. Constitution:

The great pillars of all government and of social life (are) virtue, morality, and religion. This is the armor, my friend, and this alone, that renders us invincible.”

Ignorance, narcissism, relativism, and lack of self-control on the other hand, leads to lack of impulse-control (determinism) and the downward spiraling consequences of addiction to vice---dependency, lying, cheating, crime, chaos, anarchy, and eventually slavery.

Tragically, and of great consequence to the continuance of individual liberty, all too many Americans today are selfish, apathetic, drug-using, porn-using, infantilized, violence-prone, obscenity-spewing, sex-obsessed people, and the name Jesus Christ is for many of these---and particularly for America’s self-anointed pagan Ruling Class---- the obscenity of choice. In 1909, Reverend Francis Grimke warned of the perils of moral corruption. He said:

If the time ever comes when we shall go to pieces, it will…be…from inward corruption----from the disregard of right principles…” (Equality of Right for all Citizens, Black and White Alike)

America’s greatest enemy is ‘we the people’—-and even President Trump cannot save us from ourselves. For when we choose to fall down the slippery slope of moral corruption, ignorance, dependency, and apathy we fall right into slavery, both spiritual and physical. Our own freely chosen follies and conceits---in concert with a willingness to transgress---is the downfall, and transformation of our individual liberties, self-government, decency, and a free America into a ‘new ‘Babylon—-a collectivist mystical pantheist god-state.

Acts 17: 18-19---The Modern Pagan and Pantheist Antithesis of the Word of God

In our own time, the pagan and pantheist antithesis of the Word of God remains substantially unchanged from what it was in Paul's time:

"Paul was reasoning in the synagogue with the Jews and the God-fearing Gentiles, and in the market place every day with those who happened to be present. And also some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers were conversing with him. Some were saying, "What would this idle babbler wish to say?" Others, "He seems to be a proclaimer of strange deities,"-- because he was preaching Jesus and the resurrection. And they took him and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, "May we know what this new teaching is which you are proclaiming? "(Acts 17:18-19)

The Stoics and Epicureans were the two most prominent schools of nature philosophy, nature science and nature religion of that time. Theirs was a humanist, animist, monist, esoteric (evolutionary and occult scientific) worldview predicated upon a one-dimensional universe of animated (evolving) physical matter or divine psychic energy (spiritualized matter). They were the physicists of their age.

Epicurean Atomism: Ancient and Modern

The Greek Atomist Epicurus (341-270 BC) is the father of contemporary scientific materialism. The principle tenet of Atomism teaches that the world was not created by any deity, or with any design, but came about by a chance movement of physical atoms of various sizes and magnitude that cemented together and so formed the world.

The world and everything in it were not created but instead the accidental emergent or evolved products of a great cosmic event (exploding Cosmic Egg/Big Bang) that spontaneously generated animated physical matter from nothing. This way of thinking excludes everything unseen, such as the human soul, mind, angels and demons, and holds that humans are aggregates of physical matter in motion in a human form and the human mind an active principle of grey matter.

This ancient pagan way of thinking forms the basis of the materialist psychology of Sigmund Freud, Darwin's evolutionary conception, modern evolutionary biology, secular humanism, secular trans-humanism and Marxist quasi-pantheist and animist dialectical materialism.

Though modern materialism originated in the metaphysics of ancient Ionians and Stoics during the sixth century BC it was the Atomists (Leucippus/Democritus, 460-357 BC; Epicurus, 342-270 BC; and Lucretius, 96-55 BC) who methodically developed Atomism, the root and source of modern scientific evolutionary materialism. (1)

"An age of science is necessarily an age of materialism," declared Hugh Elliot early last century, "Ours is a scientific age, and it may be said with truth that we are all materialists now."  (Darwin Day in America, John G. West, xiv)

Modern materialists such as Julien de la Mettrie (1709-51), Paul Henri Thiery, and Baron D'Holbach (1723-89) all agreed that the human mind is the property of physical matter and man nothing but a bio-machine.  La Mettrie speculated that machine-mans rational life is entirely determined by physical causes that run the gamut from raw meat, to climate, blood circulation, and gender.  Genetic inheritance, said la Mettrie, causes machine-man to commit crimes.  In our own time, this gross superstitious reasoning underpins both Progressive and 'Christian' accusations of collective 'white racism:'

"Hillary Clinton says racism is in the DNA of white people. She told a mostly black audience on Wednesday that racial bias is something that has been part of our “DNA going back probably millennia.”  (DNA Deniers Say Whites Are Born Racists, Cliff Kincaid, Accuracy in Media, Apr. 22, 2016)

“The legacy of slavery, Jim Crow, discrimination in almost every institution of our lives…casts a long shadow, and that’s still part of our DNA that’s passed on.” (Obama: Racism is in America’s DNA, Daniel Greenfield, Front Page Magazine, June 22, 2015)

This view casts parents into the role of "first cause" and would later manifest itself in the belief that State ‘experts,' or Hillary's "village" experts should have control of children.  (Ibid, pp. 16-18)

Pierre Simon Laplace (1749-1827) viewed scientific materialism, as not only the pursuit of God-like omniscience but of the Holy Grail itself---power to create a New Man.   If an intelligence could grasp "at a given instant...all the forces by which nature is animated" proclaimed Laplace, it could devise a mathematical formula that would predict everything that would ever happen, and "nothing would be uncertain, and the future, like the past, would be open to its eyes."  Scientists should reduce everything in the universe to mechanical laws that could be expressed in terms of mathematics, advised Laplace, for the promise of such knowledge was incredible power...even over life and mind itself.  (Ibid, p. 20)

Herbert Spencer, Fechner, Lotze, Wundt, and the pantheist Ernst Haeckel, inventor of the fraudulent scientism dictum---ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny---all agreed that life and mind are properties of physical matter.  Haeckel moreover imagined ether to be the primitive life-making substance, which like the primitive fire of the Stoics, changed one part of itself into inert mass while the other part became the active principle, spirit.  Today, many scientists routinely resort to Haeckel's postulate without ever inquiring into its pantheist implications.

Haeckel would later write,

"Pantheism teaches that God and the world are one...pantheism is...an advanced conception of nature (and) a polite form of atheism."  The truth of pantheism, confessed Haeckel, "lies in its destruction of the dualist antithesis of God..." The godless world system being constructed, said Haeckel, "substantially agrees with the monism or pantheism of the modern scientist."  (Monism, Ernst Haeckel, pantheist.net)

During the century to follow, Charles Darwin (1809-82) helped spread evolutionary materialism to the masses and eager seminarians and theologians.   As Stephen Jay Gould argues,

"Darwin applied a consistent philosophy of materialism to his interpretation of nature,” and "the ground of all existence; mind, spirit, and God (are reduced to) neural complexity." (Darwin Day in America, p. 41)

According to Darwin, natural selection (false god) and the laws of heredity acting on matter produced mind, morality, and civilization.  By describing how deified natural mechanisms caused the complexity of life to emerge from deified matter, Darwin helped transform materialism from a fantastically bizarre tale told by power-mad Prometheans on the fringe of society to a hallowed scientism principle enshrined and worshipped by modern scientism and ‘enlightened' Westerners.

Together, Darwinism and the Epicurean proposition that all that exists is matter in motion within the Void (monism) are the first principles of the naturalistic worldview proffered by Godless humanists ranging from Karl Marx and the Frankfurt School to Progressive Leftists, Secular Humanists, Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins and other evolutionary materialists.

Stoic Pantheism: Ancient and Modern

The Stoics were a celebrated school of severe and lofty mystical pantheist nature sages. Their main principle was that the universe of divine psychic energy was under the law of an iron necessity (determinism in Darwinian creeds and karma in Eastern creeds), the spirit of which was what they called the Deity, World Soul, or Goddess of the Earth (Gaia, Astarte, Isis, Cybele).

Stoic metaphysics has much in common with Eastern mystical pantheism, thus reality is not the physical world but rather the spiritual while the human spirit (divine spark) is deity in the same way that "The Self is Brahman" (Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 4.4.5)

Modernized Stoic pantheism and its Eastern occult counterpart forms the basis of Carl Jung's psychology, Wicca, occult New Age spirituality, Luciferian Theosophy, spiritual or cosmic trans-humanism, Teilhard's Omega, Leonard Sweet's Quantum Spirituality, modern quantum physics, global warming and the science of climate change, to name but a few permutations.

Stoic and Epicurean sages received their ideas from ancient Babylonians, Egyptians and Hindus, whose one-dimensional, evolutionary nature systems extended back centuries before Greek and Roman civilization to ancient Sumeria and the Babylonian Enuma Elish. The Enuma Elish is the original evolutionary cosmogony, the source and model for all ancient and modern evolutionary cosmogonies, Mysteries, nature religions, and evolutionary philosophy.  Though it was found in Nineveh, the capital of the Assyrians, evidence indicates that it dates back to the Sumerians.  It begins with an evolutionary account of beginnings.  Thorkild Jacobsen comments:

Enuma Elish assumes that all things have evolved out of watery chaos…Then, in the midst of this watery chaos, two gods come into existence…”  (The Long War Against God, Dr. Henry Morris, pp. 243-244)

"What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.”  Ecclesiastes 1:9

In “The Making of the New Spirituality: the Eclipse of the Western Religious Tradition,” James Herrick writes that modern physicists claim to have irrefutable scientific proof for the foundational premises of pantheist spirituality. (p. 169)

For example, in the “Quantum Society,” physics writers Danah Zohar and Ian Marshall advocate a new esoteric science of pantheism, psychology and sociology grounded in a breathtaking range of practical implications in the fundamental physics that underlies all else in the universe lending itself to a revitalized ancient mystical pantheist and monist understanding of the nature of the mind:

“the nature of society, and the nature of nature are all one and the same thing…linked by a common physics.” (Ibid, p. 170-171)

The two men also find that when physicists probe the deep recesses of the universe they are confronted by a void, an infinite field of energy they call the ‘quantum vacuum,’ that seems empty yet is where all physical objects originate.

The ultimate discovery of quantum physics is trumpeted as scientific proof of the basic correctness of revitalized Babylonian pantheist theology and the men call their divine energy field the quantum vacuum.  Their quantum vacuum is strikingly similar to some Hindu and Buddhist accounts of the origins of everything that exists as emanations from the Void.   Nor do Zohar and Marshall deny the similarity:

The vacuum spoken of by quantum physicists, like the Buddhist concept of Sunyata, or the Void, to which it is so similar, is replete with potentiality.”   (ibid)

From Sumeria to our own age, the Void has been viewed as the ultimate ground of being and true mystical religious experience. As the beginning and ending of all reality, the Void or vacuum is “the vast sea of all else that is.”  Moreover, humans are nothing more than excited aspects or modes of the Void:

“…the vacuum has the same physical structure as human consciousness.”

This means that since the soul of the Void and divine soul or spark of the human are one and the same substance then ‘god’ is within the human brain.  Reality is therefore within human consciousness because man is an aspect of the Void:

There is…quite possibly a common physics linking human consciousness to the ground state of ‘everything that ever existed or can exist’ in the universe (and we) are part of it.  Each one of us as an individual is an excitation of the vacuum, an individual being on the sea of Being” and this is a straightforward conclusion of “orthodox physics.  It is…proven.” (Pp. 172-173)

“See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.”  Colossians 2:8

The Apostle Paul warned against being taken captive by ‘elemental spirits’ that are ‘not after Christ.’  By perpetrating deceptions through the elements and powers of the cosmos, Satan lures people away from the Lord Jesus Christ and toward other beings that inhabit the universe, whether real or imagined.   What this means is that the impersonal, mystical evolutionary 'powers' ascribed by evolutionary theologians and their pagan counterparts to natural selection, chance, the Void, Gaia, Teilhard's Omega, Christ-consciousness, the Force, evolution, and other idols of mans’ imagination are the powers of elemental spirits applied to the inventions of deluded, superstitious men.

Over the past three hundred years the Word of God and the Western Christian tradition has been incrementally eclipsed by the empty deceit of dehumanizing pagan and mystical pantheist ways of thinking that have been artfully revamped and revised for modern Western consumption.

In “The Making of the New Spirituality,” James Herrick masterfully demonstrates how each major tenet of the Word of God has been radically reinvented and disseminated by certain scientists, occult New Age gurus, evolutionary theologians, and new religious cults as well as through books, speeches, magazines, popular TV programs, plays, radio interviews, music, and websites.

With regard to the Word of God, Herrick lists seven major tenets:

1. The supernatural authority of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures: Beginning with the Genesis account of creation ex nihilo, the Bible is taken to be divinely delivered, thus uniquely authoritative as a source of ultimate truth.

2. A personal, creating and wholly other God:  The Triune God is all-knowing, all-powerful, present everywhere and possesses traits of a personality—thoughts, motives, and the capacity to form relationships.  He spoke the physical and spiritual worlds into existence ex nihilo, or out of nothing.  Moreover He is neither contained in nature in any way nor equivalent with the created order, meaning that man does not have a share of God’s substance as pagan thinking maintains and evolutionary theism implies.

3. God’s creation of the human race: The Word of God teaches that the human race is a special creation of God, the only part of the creation to bear His spiritual image (mind/spirit).  Man then is not a product of strictly natural processes nor is he a dehumanized hominid or aspect of the Void.  For fifteen hundred years, Christendom and then later Protestant America, had followed St. Augustine (AD 354-430) in affirming that as all men are the spiritual image-bearers of the transcendent Tri-Personal God then it logically follows that each human is a person, a trinity of being — of soul, spirit, and body:

"The essence of the human is not the body, but the soul. It is the soul alone that God made in his own image and the soul that he loves...For the sake of the soul...the Son of God came into the world...." (Incomplete Work on Matthew, Homily 25, Ancient Christian Devotional, Oden and Crosby, p. 153)

4. An intervening God: The Word of God affirms that God’s activity includes involvement in the lives of individual human beings.  On occasion Gods personal involvement is in the form of communication and at other times He miraculously alters the ordinary course of cause and effect.  Though He invites address and petition through prayer He is not at the command of human beings.

5. Humankind’s Fall:  The human race fell into sin at the beginning of its existence as a consequence of their refusal to accept divinely mandated limitations on their activities. The fall carried with it various catastrophic consequences including spiritual confusion, a state of spiritual separation from God and the inevitability of death.

6. Jesus Christ is God Incarnate: Jesus Christ uniquely manifested God in human form.  Jesus is a revelation of God’s nature in person and the only human being to ever fully express the divine nature.  His death and resurrection are uniquely redemptive of fallen humanity.  These events are the sole provision by the living God for the salvation of the human race.  There is no other way but His offer of salvation.

7. Human destiny and divine judgment: The Word of God insists that the eternal destiny of the human race is to be determined only by God.  Neither the present earth nor the human race exists indefinitely.  Human beings live but one life.  They do not spiritually evolve or reincarnate.    A final judgment of the human race will occur, and each individual human being will be held accountable for the life lived.

Herrick calls the new pagan and pantheist spirituality “the New Religious Synthesis” and lists seven of its major components:

1. History is not important: As evolution is the primary doctrine of the new spirituality, and it implies continuous change or transformation, then history as a record of events in space and time is as useless and absurd as are Special Creation, unchanging higher truths, moral absolutes and the two created sexes.

2. The dominance of reason:  Reason—also mind, Christ-consciousness, intellect, awareness, divine spark, pattern, mind-stream or imagination—is the divine essence in humans.  It is virtually unlimited in its potential development through scientific study, evolution, and mystical experiences.

3. The spiritualization of science: The tool employed by divine reason to acquire new spiritual truths.

4. The animation of nature: Nature is infused with and animated by divine spirit, the Force, Zoe, christ consciousness, serpent power or life force

5. Hidden knowledge (gnosis) and spiritual progress: Gnosis is the key to spiritual insight and human progress and is the preserve of some scientists, mediums and a new class of Western shamans.  Such knowledge comes by means of science and mind-emptying psycho-spiritual technologies that lead to direct communication with the Void.

6. Spiritual evolution: Spiritual evolution is not simply change but incremental advancement over time as the initiate achieves greater and greater fusion with the divine energy field or void.  The eventual result of this process will supposedly be human divinity but in reality ends in insanity and/or possession.

7. Religious pluralism as rooted in mystical experiences of the Ultimate Source:  Mystical experiences of interconnectedness or oneness with the Void provide a basis for religious pluralism:

“Bishop William Swing, of the Episcopal Church’s Diocese of California, thinks he is building a religious bridge to the new millennium, and he wants everybody on Earth to cross it with him. His United Religions Initiative (URI) is trying to create a United Religions, a world parliament of religions, “a permanent assembly, with the stature and visibility of the United Nations, where the world’s religions and spiritual communities will gather on a daily basis, in prayerful dialogue and cooperative action, to make peace among religions and to be a force for peace among nations, to address urgent human need and to heal the earth.”  (The United Religions Initiative—Foundation for a World Religion, Lee Penn)

According to Swing’s experience of mystical oneness:

Religion is concerned with the relationship of human beings with their spiritual Origin. We believe in the universality and eternity of the Spirit. We believe that all religions derive their wisdom from that ultimate Source. Therefore, the world’s faith traditions share in common wisdom, which can be obscured by differences in religious concepts and practices. … The United Religions promotes dialogue. A theology of acceptance will help the world’s people explore common ground. Our awareness of unity within religious diversity promotes ever-increasing kinship.” (ibid)

So stunning has been the transformation of Western consciousness under the shaping influence of scientism, evolution and modern pagan and pantheist spirituality that it has now supplanted the Word of God as the religious foundation of a large and growing number of Westerners, Americans and undiscerning Christians.  James Herrick comments:

For many Westerners, the long-prophesied new spiritual age certainly has arrived.  The Revealed Word and its busy, personal God have faded into our collective spiritual memory, and bright new spiritual commitments encourage fresh religious thought.”  (Herrick, p. 16)

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” Hosea 4:6   Therefore, “do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1 ESV

In his insightful essay, “Why Christianity Lost America?” Vishal Mangalwadi, author of “The Book That Made Your World: How the Bible Created the Soul of Western Civilization,” argues that Christianity lost America because 20th-century evangelicalism branded itself as the party of faith while secularism (science, evolution, university, media) became the party of truth. This is one reason why 70% of Christian youth give up meaningful involvement with the church when they grow up.

In other words, Christians have bought into a vast deception that defines ancient pagan and pantheist spirituality as “factual” empirical science. Thus if evolution and pagan presuppositions are true then the Genesis account is not true, so why bother with Christian theism if it has been scientifically invalidated?   This is one reason why ancient pagan and pantheist spirituality revamped for our age have replaced the living, personal Triune God and His Word as the great explanation of the origin and subsequent existence of life in all of its forms.

The pagan and pantheist way of thinking represented by evolutionary biology, scientism, occult Eastern pantheist creeds, the Stoics and Epicureans are the principle enemies of the Word of God and by extension, of salvation unto life eternal.  Thus in obedience to our Lord, and as an act of Christ-like love for the faithful and all who are open to truth, we are to actively contend against these infernal pagan teachings even though our paganized culture and increasingly paganized church not only ridicule, scoff, scorn and reject us but accuse us of insanity, intolerance, racism, homophobia, transphobia, divisiveness, and hate.

America's "New" Spiritually Pantheist Worldview

In his newest lecture, “Paganism in Today’s Culture,” Dr. Peter Jones, director of truthXchange and Adjunct professor of Westminster Seminary explains why social boundaries set by nature no longer exist for this generation:

“The Millennial Generation is the first generation of the modern era to receive a fully-developed neo-pagan cosmology masquerading as the correct, progressive view of history and demanding to be inscribed in public policy.

In 1982 Francis A. Schaeffer saw this coming and in his A Christian Manifesto warned the Church:

"Christians…have seen things in bits and pieces… permissiveness, pornography, the public schools, the breakdown of the family, and finally abortion… instead of totals…They have not seen this as a totality–a shift in the world view — that is,…a funda-mental change in the overall way people think and view the world and whole life as a whole.” (Schaeffer)

This has become a cosmology of worldview or network of plausibility structures,

"....so radical it can take your breath away, as stated some years ago by the futurist thinker, Jeremy Rifkin, an adviser to the European Union since 2002 and head of the largest global economic development team in the world. In 1983 at a point in the maturation of the 60’s cultural revolution, he declared in A New Word– A New World:

“We no longer feel ourselves to be guests in someone else’s home and therefore obliged to make our behavior conform with a set of preexisting cosmic rules. It is our creation now. We make the rules. We establish the parameters of reality. We create the world, and because we do, we no longer feel beholden to outside forces…..We no longer have to justify our behavior, for we are now the architects of the universe. We are responsible for nothing outside ourselves, for we are the kingdom.” (Rifkin)

(Dr. Jones’ video here: https://truthxchange.com/media/2015/03/03/peter-jones-paganism-in-todays-culture/ )

America’s founding Christian-based worldview and moral system of Judeo-Christian ethics, having been consistently excluded from government, school, and law has been supplanted with a Humanistic neo-pagan cosmogony and spiritually occult pantheist religion based on occult New Age Transhumanism (man as god), anti-creation Evolution,  Relativism, and Scientism, the autocratic spawn of positivism.

The father of Positivism was the certifiably insane Frenchman, Auguste Comte (1798-1857).   Comte is celebrated as the first philosopher of science because he elevated science above the Revealed Word with his arrogant, defiant claim that the only authentic knowledge is scientific knowledge.  This naturally discarded all miracles, transcendent universals, immutable Truth and Moral and Natural Law created by the Word of God.  Comte's goal was to replace historical Christianity with a secular humanist nature religion where experts---scientists and engineers---constitute a new priesthood.

Scientism takes Positivism to an even greater extreme by claiming that only science and its high priests of science and technology can produce authentic knowledge about man, what constitutes right and wrong, and the origins of the universe.   In pursuit of its goals, scientism deceptively stamps immaterial concepts such as evolution and climate change with the label: provable, therefore authentic science.

With respect to the West's neo-pagan, anti-creation evolutionary cosmogony, Benjamin Wiker describes  it as a secularized, geometric-shaped, mathematical formula,

"..entirely stripped of the supernatural (and grounded in a secular/pagan understanding) of nature, science and philosophy that laid down the presuppositions on which Scripture scholarship came to rest...Little (can be) understood about the rise of modern biblical criticism if close attention is not paid to the great cosmological shift that occurs in the seventeenth century...The two occur as part of one revolution because the shift in the meaning of nature includes human nature as well." ( Politicizing the Bible: The Roots of Historical Criticism and the Secularization of Scripture, 1300-1700, Wiker & Hahn, p. 257)

Scientism and anti-creation evolutionism reject the Genesis account of creation ex nihilo together with the Fall and teach instead an inverted exegesis positing billions of years of evolutionary ascent of life from inert matter, man from lower creatures and an eternally expanding cosmos.

This upside-down view leads to a philosophy of moral relativism because if men were once something else, a genderless blob of matter, and then later on lizards and even later still some kind of ape-like creature, then not only are men going to become something else (i.e., supermen, god-men, super robots) but nothing can be said about transgender, sodomy, bestiality, man-boy-love, and lesbianism since all life forms ascended from a genderless blob of either eternally existing or spontaneously generated matter which may or may not involve a deity shaped and controlled by scientists, gurus, or other illumined minds.

With regard to soul, if life arose from chemicals and then billions of years later man evolved from lower life-forms, then his rational nature, his soul, differs not qualitatively but only quantitatively from the beasts.  Like beasts, man is not a person but a creature of the earth.  Like them he has no spirit—will, intellect, and conscience.  He is an androgynous bio-machine or hominid whose brain is organized by the genome and the genome shaped by natural selection.

The process of worldview transformation has for many years been aided and abetted by weak, accommodating and apostate theologians such as the Hindu-pantheist evolutionary scientist Teilhard de Chardin. Teilhard encouraged Christians to submit to the process of evolution because the promise of this living universal force (evolution) is godhood through fusion with the substance of the pantheist God-substance:

Though frightened for a moment by evolution, the Christian now perceives that what it offers him is a magnificent means of feeling more at one with God. In (the old, traditional form of Christianity), the universal domination of Christ could…still be regarded as an extrinsic and superimposed power. In a spiritually converging world, this ‘Christic’ energy acquires an urgency and intensity of another order altogether.” (Genesis, Creation, and Early Man, Seraphim Rose, p. 590)

Teilhard is almost without question the spiritual father of the rising tide of spiritually pagan and political globalism now taking the West and America by storm. He formulated the dominant conceptual framework for a planetary occult pagan and pantheist cosmology, religion and spiritually totalitarian social order. Describing himself as a mystic and an evolutionary scientist, Teilhard taught that the spiritual, religious and political unification of the earth was the next great evolutionary leap to come and that this fusion was as necessary for the survival of mankind as the fusion of polar opposites (i.e., good with evil, light with dark, male with female, man with god) and the transformation and integration of the Hindu god Shiva (The Destroyer) by Christ:

It is not enough to refuse or ridicule Shiva: for he exists. What is necessary, is to Christify him. Christ would not be complete if he did not integrate Shiva (as a component), whilst transforming him.” (Towards a New Mysticism: Teilhard de Chardin and Eastern Religions, Ursula King)

For Teilhard, Christ is the soul of the divine World (or Gaia). In ” The Future of Man” he taught that the maturing (evolutionary unfolding) of a collective consciousness accompanied by numerical expansions are two aspects inseparably linked to the historical unfolding of the Incarnation. Without the process of biological evolution, which produced the human brain, there would be no souls, and similarly, without the evolution of collective thought, through which human consciousness can be attained on earth, there can be no consummated Christ. In Teilhards’ way of thinking, evolution is man and God becoming conscious of himself and Christ, in this scheme of things, is incarnate within the entire universe.

In this “new,” yet ancient occult pagan way of thinking, revamped and revised for our scientistic age, dissent against scientism and evolution are blasphemous.   Moreover, global cooling/warming/change are ominous excitations of the soul of the divine World-Soul and scientism the knowledge of what makes the divine World sick and angry, thus the hysteria of modern pagans in high places:

We are close to a time when all of humankind will envision a global agenda that encompasses a kind of Global Marshall Plan to address the causes of poverty and suffering and environmental destruction all over the earth.” Al Gore, Earth in the Balance

We have reached the critical moment of decision on climate change. Failure to act to now would be deeply and unforgivably irresponsible. We urgently require a global environmental revolution.” Tony Blair, former British PM

Climate change should be seen as the greatest challenge to ever face mankind.”Prince Charles

Climate change is real. Not only is it real, it’s here, and its effects are giving rise to a frighteningly new global phenomenon: the man-made natural disaster.” – Barack Obama,US President

“Coal makes us sick. Oil makes us sick. It’s global warming. It’s ruining our country. It’s ruining our world.” Harry Reid, U.S. Senate majority leader

By the end of this century climate change will reduce the human population to a few breeding pairs surviving near the Arctic.” – Sir James Lovelock, Revenge of Gaia

The Cancer Destroying Our Nation that Politics Absolutely Cannot Fix

It is the case today that increasing numbers of modern Westerners, Americans and ‘Christian’ clergy are following the way blazed by Deists and other “Enlightenment” thinkers such as Thomas Paine who saw Science as a pathway to a new spirituality, one that would replace the outdated and unscientific Revealed Word perspective.

In keeping with the enlightened scientific view, Paine believed that a free and just government could not exist simultaneously with Christianity.  For Paine, the Deists veneration of Science and man’s Omniscient Reason was the only true religion.  Paine provided Americans in the 1790s with what Deists of the 1730s provided England: a reason for rejecting the Revealed Word in favor of Science and Reason (the mind of man).

Undermining the Revealed Word through corrosive criticism together with ruthless ridicule, scoffing and mocking was the first goal of Deists.  The second was to advance an alternative religion based on Science, one that prefigured and paved the way for the occult New Age scientific pantheism overtaking America today and advocated by evolutionary Christians such as Teilhard de Chardin, Michael Dowd, and John Polkinghorne with his sophisticated two-aspect monism conception.

All the corruptions that have taken place in theology and in religion,” said Paine, “have been produced by admitting what man calls revealed religion.”  Rational religion, on the other hand, derives from an examination of nature, especially the careful study of celestial bodies. (The Making of the New Spirituality, James A. Herrick, p 101)

In a section of “The Age of Reason” entitled “Comparing Christianism with Pantheism,” Paine recommends a scientific alternative to Christianity.  Though he labels this new scientific faith Deism, it is a brand of pantheism that locates the Divine Substance of God within nature.

Paine compared Science as the study of the “structure of the heavens” with various non-Christian “systems of religion.”  In this light, Science is “the progression of knowledge” and the one true source of natural religion.

In another section entitled “Advantages of Life in a Plurality of Worlds,” Paine explains that the pantheist conception of an infinite space filled with divine life led him, as it had Giordano Bruno, to speculate that other intelligent species exist in the cosmos, which through contemplation, can provide a sense of wonder lending itself to worship.  (ibid)

For Paine and other Deists, Science was the basis for a new spirituality: pantheism.

Pantheism first appeared in the pre-flood world when antediluvians believed Lucifer’s lie that the personal, transcendent God had emptied Himself into creation and no longer existed except as an impersonal creative force within nature that allowed them to evolve into gods after their death.

This notion appears throughout history in a variety of guises originating in the post-flood world in the age-old technology of alchemy and its magical meaning: the ancient Egyptian Hermetic principle of the macrocosm’s correlation with the microcosm, “As above, so below” symbolized by the Ouroboros – the Great Chain of Being.

From the Renaissance to our own time, scientific pantheism packaged as biological and spiritual theories of evolutionary emergence or change, pre-existing or spontaneously generated matter theories, multiverse conceptions (i.e., Paine’s infinite space filled with divine life), Teilhard’s Omega Point, Michael Dowd’s pantheist New Theism and Polkinghorne’s two aspect monism, has swept the post-Christian West and America, even boldly entering into the whole body of the Church.

 The Return of Pantheism

In “God and the Knowledge of Reality,” the eminent Catholic scholar and historian, Thomas Molnar (1921-2010), reveals that pantheism was revived during the Renaissance by Christian mystics and scholars who had discovered Hermetic magic and mystical Jewish Cabala with its Sephiroth (Great Chain of Being) and like Pico della Mirandola argued that pantheist hermetic magic---the divine science or Magic Way of reaching divine status and psychic powers is the best proof of the divinity of Christ:

“…by the time of the Renaissance the esoteric texts of the first centuries A.D. had acquired in scholarly and humanist circles an unparalleled prestige, confronting as equals the texts held sacred by the church. In Pico’s estimation….there is no science that would prove for us Christ’s divinity better than magic and the Cabala.” (pp. 78-79)

From the Renaissance to the so-called Age of Reason on through to our own, scientific pantheists have been steadily working toward the goal of overhauling the Revealed Word, beginning with the book of Genesis, the book of beginnings divinely revealed to Moses for our edification and eternal salvation, in order to harmonize it with scientific pantheism and evolution.

American anthropologist, educator, philosopher, and natural science writer Loren Eisely (1907-1977) explains that the ancient taproot of modern evolution and its’ constant companion emergence or continuous change, is the mystical pantheist doctrine known as the Great Chain of Being:

All that the Great Chain of Being actually needed to become a full-fledged evolutionary theory was the introduction into it of the conception of time in vast quantities....It demanded, in other words, a universe not made but being made continuously…. As we look back upon the long reign of the Scale of Being, whose effects...persisted well into the nineteenth century, we may observe that the seed of evolution lay buried in the traditional metaphysic which indeed prepared the Western mind for its acceptance.” (Darwin’s Century, Eisley, pp. 9-10)

In its’ original post-flood conception the Great Chain of Being was a static system representing the mind of the Eternal Absolute (creative force), or Void with Buddhist and some Hindu systems.  According to this ancient occult metaphysic, the entire universe, all life, and even all of the gods and human beings and everything else came about by a process of emanation from the Eternal Absolute.

The 'New' and 'Scientific' Great Chain of Being

Underlying the modern scientific notion that life was brought here by way of asteroids or Space Brothers is the multiverse hypothesis, a theory proposed by David Deutsch in his book, “The Fabric of Reality.”

Deutsch’s theory recasts the Great Chain of Being (Orobouros) into the idea of an infinite number of parallel universes in the vain hope that in at least one of them, conscious life and order arose by pure chance from the mixing together of non-life bearing chemicals, meaning that life created itself and then through evolutionary emergence (alchemical change) over vast ages, primitive life and then finally mankind finally appeared.

Multiverse speculations are grounded in a two-fold neo-pantheist vision. First, that living beings created themselves from pre-existing or spontaneously generated matter at the Big Bang, and second, the age-old technology of alchemy and its magical meaning: the ancient Egyptian Hermetic principle of the pantheist conception of the macrocosm’s correlation with the microcosm symbolized by the Ouroboros – the Great Chain of Being, cosmic tree of life or with Darwin the tree of life.

In modern thought,  the Great Chain of Being or Ouroboros ‘above’ (Void, Brahman) corresponds to a number of different mystical planets (i.e., Kolob), worlds, dimensions or astral planes and sub-planes comprising the habitations,

“(of all) supernatural entities, the locale of gods and demons, the void where the thoughtforms dwell, the region inhabited by spirits of the air and other elements, and the various heavens and hells with their angelic and demonic hosts....With the help of ritual procedures, trained persons believe that they can ‘rise on the planes,’ and experience these regions in full awareness.” (”Beyond the Body: The Human Double and the Astral planes, Benjamin Walker, 1974, pp. 117-8)

The Ouroboros is well-known around the world in its’ many pantheist traditions:

“References to this reality are the Dreaming of the Australian Aborigines, the Spirit-world of Shamanism, the Duart of the ancient Egyptians, the Bardo (Intermediate State) of the Tibetans, the Imaginal world of Islamic Esotericism – e.g. the Barzakh (Interworld) or of Suhrawardi and the Mithal (Imaginal realm) of Ibn Arabi – the Universe of Asiyah of some Kabbalists, or of Yetzirah according to others. Other descriptions are the Nervo degree of the Physical State of Theon, the Astral or 2nd Prakritic plane (corresponding to the Linga Sharira or Subtle or Astral body) and the Kama (Desire-Plane) of Blavatsky, the Astral Plane of the Adyar school of Theosophy and of popular occultism, Rudolf Steiner’s “Soul World”; and the Vital and Subtle Physical described by Sri Aurobindo and Mirra. These are just a few of the innumerable descriptions of this plane of existence.” (The Astral Plane, kheper.net)

Recently, a zealous defender of natural science (pantheism) and evolution baldly confessed to me,

“…science is a potent weapon against Christianity.  It is a tool which can be used by anybody — including Christians — who grab and employ it.”

Used in pursuit of what though?

Before answering that question it is vitally important that scientific pantheism be separated from the science made possible by the Biblical worldview positing a living, personal Holy God who, though maintaining all things here in the space-time dimension, does not dwell here but outside of the space-time dimension in the 3rd heaven.  In other words, His substance does not comprise the space-time dimension as all pantheist systems hold, thus man has no share of His substance.

Only within ancient and modern pantheist systems (natural science) positing the distribution of the substance of God throughout the space-time dimension can it be held that life arose from spontaneously generated non-life bearing chemicals pregnant with the emergent possibility of life or arose somewhere else and was accidentally brought here by asteroids or on purpose by Space Brothers.

Now we arrive at the answer to “in pursuit of what?” which is really the source of the spiritual pathology underlying the return of modern Westerners, Americans and countless priests to scientific pantheism and its primary doctrine, evolutionary emergence:

Men no longer desire to be God’s spiritual image-bearers but rather liberated ‘free spirits’ boasting: I AM I; I came from Myself.

Liberation of ‘self’ begins with Darwinism because it removes God from biology.   Darwinism is the magical key to liberation of ‘self’ from the personal, living God of Revelation:

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Genesis 1:27

For fifteen hundred years, Christendom and then later Protestant America had followed St. Augustine (AD 354-430) in affirming that as all men are the spiritual image-bearers of the transcendent Triune God then it logically follows that each person is a trinity of being — of soul, spirit, and body:

The essence of the human is not the body, but the soul. It is the soul alone that God made in his own image and the soul that he loves....For the sake of the soul...the Son of God came into the world....” (Incomplete Work on Matthew, Homily 25, Ancient Christian Devotional, Oden and Crosby, p. 153)

Man is God’s spiritual image-bearer, and said the brilliant French economist, statesman, and author Frederic Bastiat, this is the gift from God which includes the physical, intellectual and moral life:

He has provided us with a collection of marvelous faculties. And He has put us in the midst of a variety of natural resources. By application of our faculties to these natural resources we convert them into products, and use them. Life, faculties, production — in other words, individuality, liberty, property — this is man (and) these three gifts from God precede all human legislation, and are superior to it. Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place.” (How Evil Works, David Kupelian, p. 8)

Vishal Mangalwadi, India’s foremost Christian scholar observes that the unique concept of man as God’s spiritual image-bearer gave birth to the “belief in the unique dignity of human beings,” and this is,

“...the force that created Western civilization, where citizens do not exist for the state but the state exists for the individuals. Even kings, presidents, prime ministers, and army generals cannot be allowed to trample upon an individual and his or her rights.” (Truth and Transformation: A Manifesto for Ailing Nations, pp. 12-13)

But from the Renaissance to our own age, Americans and Westerners no longer desirous of being God’s spiritual image-bearers have been, as dogs returning to not just stale but ancient vomit, liberating ‘self’ from the living, Holy God by embracing ‘scientific’ pantheism and evolution.   And this is the source of the spiritual cancer destroying our nation that politics absolutely cannot fix.
