Can We Stand Firm and Confront a Radically Changing America?

MassResistance Update Can we stand firm and confront a changed America? In our opinion there really isn't a choice. We must.

But probably the most distressing thing about the this election season and Barack Obama's rise to power is the realization that a majority of America is willing to accept things that were unthinkable even ten years ago. This must be what it felt like in Europe in the 1930s.

Although the mainstream media has buried, or otherwise refused to report on, an enormous amount of negative information about Obama, three things are reasonably well known: (1) his zealous support for partial-birth abortion, (2) his intimate 20-year membership in the church of Reverend Jeremiah Wright, famous for "G-d Damn America" speeches and other diatribes; and (3) his close association with the anti-American terrorist Bill Ayers, who continues to spew hatred of this country.

Over the last few months, we randomly asked a fair number of middle-class Obama supporters whether any of these items bothered them. Nobody we talked to seemed to mind. Some people seemed to agree with much of it. Even when we pressed them, it still didn't matter. They just wanted some "change", and if this is part of the package, they could live with that. (Maybe there's something exciting about a "dangerous" leader." Or, after decades of 60's former hippies running the public schools and colleges, a neo-pagan anti-American mindset is becoming the rule rather than the exception.)

Try it yourself. Ask around. You'll be pretty shocked. There's nothing quite as unnerving as a soccer mom with a car full of kids, or a corporate executive, looking you in the eye and dismissing these concerns completely.

What do we do? How do we deal with this new America? How much worse is it going to get?

It's going to take organization, confrontation, and the willingness of all of us not to back down from the truth. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MassResistance will be holding a banquet to discuss these grave concerns. For those able to attend:

We're going to talk about that at our banquet on Jan.31. We urge you to attend if you can. But time is running out to make your reservation.
