Allie Martin - OneNewsNow - 10/24/2009 4:25:00 AMThe daughter of Billy Graham is encouraging Christians to not let worries or fears drive their lives.
Ruth Graham is a Christian author and speaker who travels the world encouraging people to be sure they have a saving relationship with Christ, and also to focus on Jesus and not the worries of life.
Graham, the third child of evangelist Billy Graham, was interviewed recently on the Fox News Network and discussed her new book, Fear Not Tomorrow, God is Already There. In the book, she shares about her two failed marriages, her battle with depression, and her children's struggles with teen pregnancy and eating disorders.
She said through the tough times, her dad modeled the character of Christ.
"One time I had to come home to face the truth," she shared. "And as I was driving home, fears multiplied and questions swirled in my mind -- What was I going to say to him? What was he going to say to me? He told me not to do what I had done.
"And when I arrived and I saw him standing in the driveway, as I got out of the car, he wrapped his arms around me and he said, 'Welcome home.'"
Graham recounted how she began to search the scriptures to see how God reacted to those broken by their fears and sins.
"A boatload of fishermen scared to death, saying [to Jesus] 'Do you care if we die?' How many of us have said to God, do you care if we die? A woman who had been married five times, the man she was with wasn't her husband, [she was] desperate -- and she met the Lord Jesus and he forgave."
Graham is founder and president of Ruth Graham & Friends.
