It was bound to happen. Among Tea Partiers is a large number of Libertarians, and they are now posturing themselves as the spokesmen of the Tea Party movement. They call themselves "fiscally conservative but socially liberal," which means that they love money, things, and hearty-partying. The oft-quoted Dick Morris for example, is a Libertarian. Essentially, Libertarianism is synonymous with atheism. Politically it stands for license recast as "limited government." Morally it is utilitarian and pragmatic, which means that every man can do "what seems best to him." When Libertarian "ideology" is put in action, it equates to "freedom of" amoral capitalism, pornography, choice (abortion), consumerism, carnality (sodomy, prostitution, etc), and drug use, for example.....Linda

The fiscally conservative tea party activists were crucial to electing pro-life candidates in the 2010 mid-term elections, but now they are calling on Republicans in Congress to avoid social issues like abortion.
In a letter released today, according to Politico, the Tea Party activists, joined by representatives of a gay Republican group, say they want Republicans in Congress to lay off social issues.
â€œOn behalf of limited-government conservatives everywhere, we write to urge you and your colleagues in Washington to put forward a legislative agenda in the next Congress that reflects the principles of the Tea Party movement,â€ the letter says. â€œThis election was not a mandate for the Republican Party, nor was it a mandate to act on any social issue.â€
