The Death of God: Rise of Nihilism

The German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche is infamous both for declaring the death of God and for forecasting the age of Nihilism. No one has more clearly and succinctly described the age of nothingness than Nietzsche when speaking through his character the Madman he declares: "We have killed him (God), you and I! We are all his murderers! But how have we done it? How were we able to drink up the sea? Who gave us the sponge to wipe away the whole horizon? What did we do when we loosened this earth from its sun?..."

Such is the nihilist universe in which there is neither up nor down, holy nor unholy, right nor wrong, true nor false, straight nor crooked. Where there was once God, there is now nothing; where there was once authority, order, certainty, faith, hope, and meaning, there are now rebelliousness, meaninglessness, strife, chaos, doubt, despair, and unprincipled and arbitrary action. This is the world so vividly described by the Swiss Catholic Max Picard as the universe of "the flight from God" and alternatively as the world of "discontinuity" and "disjointedness."

Before the modern age the soul of man was largely transformed by the virtues of obedience, submission to God, Church, and to lawful earthly authorities. To the modern man "enlightened" by the death of God, the Old Order is but a horrible memory of some dark, frightening past from which modern man has been "liberated." With exception of a remnant, God is dead in the heart of modern man and modern history is a chronicle of the fall of every authority. In the words of the "death of God" anarchist Proudhon:

"The first duty of man, on becoming intelligent and free, is to continually hunt the idea of God out of his mind and conscience....Every step we take in advance is a victory in which we crush Divinity."

As the dark prophet Nietzsche knew, the death of God meant the death of all authority---universal moral law and immutable truths--- and of mankinds' "being," that is his spiritual likeness to God the Father, creator of everything, including mans' "being." As the Old Order fell through the Looking Glass, it would turn upside-down, as foreseen by Nietzsche:

"Of all that which was formerly held to be true, not one word is to be credited. Everything which was formerly disdained as unholy, forbidden, contemptible, and fatal---all these flowers now bloom on the most charming paths of truth."

In other words, in place of God there now stands the unfettered will of amoral man, an evolved soulless primate demanding submission to his own peculiar version of truth. Thus male-primates in make-up and dresses demand submission to their unholy appetites, as do pedophile-primates, Gaia worshipping primates, Wiccan primates, Sharia enforcing primates, and Satanic primates. And why not? Highly evolved primates are now gods.

The unfettered assertive "will," said Fyodor Dostoevsky with his acute insight into the "death of God" revolutionary, is the most nihilistic of all. In other words, nothing can stand between the assertive "will" and what it wants. Thus it is intolerable and politically incorrect for some men to claim to be created in the spiritual image of God when powerful "death of God" evolutionists demand that all men be primates, nor are men to be "straight" if some male-primates desire to be female-primates.

Where before, truth and right and wrong could be known and agreement, respect, trust, and accord were possible, now there is disrespect, endless bickering, discord, suspicion, contempt, strife, enmity, wrath, backibiting and viciousness as unfettered wills struggle with each for power and ultimately submission of all other wills to the triumphant will. Everything is reduced to one-upmanship....power-struggles. In the Nihilist universe, "nothing" positive can be accomplished at business meetings, the halls of Congress, or the White House except by way of threat, psychological bullying, blackmail, bribery, or other coercive terroristic means.

Nihilism has no program but personal power. It believes in nothing but self. It knows only violence, egotism, contempt, and hatred. Nihilists are prisoners of their own inward-turned souls, hence of their own narcissism-induced stupidity and out-of-control appetites. Nihilism only knows what it wants, at any given moment, however fleeting.

The Nihilist rebellion is a movement of spirit. It is an inverse faith compelled to destroy its' rival...Authentic Christianity. Nihilists are mercenaries of the void...the unwitting tools of Satan, the father of lies, envy, strife, hate, and nothingness.

Nihilism is like a universal acid. It eats through everything good, true, and right and leaves disordered its' wake. It is only in this light that we can understand why America...its' political institutions, workplaces, churches, schools, law, military, and media are increasingly disordered and abnormal.
