The Fall of Man...all over again

In reaction against Pat Buchanan's newest book, ""Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?" an obviously angry Phil Griffin, president of MSNBC says Buchanan’s recent hot-selling book not only violates the liberal cable network’s values but that Buchanan’s ideas aren’t even fit to be discussed in public – anywhere: “The ideas he put forth aren’t really appropriate for national dialogue,” said Griffin, “much less the dialogue on MSNBC.”

Just what did Buchanan say that led to Griffin's explosion? He said America was born a Western Christian republic under the Biblical God, but is disintegrating into liberalism's godless polytheistic utopian fantasy, a multiracial, multicultural, multilingual, multiethnic stew of a nation that has no successful precedent in the history of the world.

Buchanan outlines three historic changes that now have our nation teetering on the edge of the abyss: America’s loss of her cradle faith, Christianity; the moral, social, and cultural collapses that have followed from that loss; and the slow death of the people who created and ruled the nation.

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them..and said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply..." (Gen. 1:27-28)

America's cradle faith is grounded on the special creation account set forth in Genesis. Yet today, not only have evolutionary conceptions replaced the Genesis account, but contemporary Christians outnumber atheists in their support of evolutionism.

In his book, "The Long War Against God," Dr. Henry Morris examines the pervasive presence and impact of evolutionary conceptions over and across the history of mankind. Citing authenticated translations of ancient Sumerian (Babylonian) and Egyptian cosmogony accounts such as Sumeria's Enuma Elish that clearly speak of evolution, Morris concludes:

"All who oppose the true God must always resort to some kind of evolution." (p. 303)

And all who oppose the true God always fall, thereby destroying themselves. From the Garden of Eden on through to our modern age, there is a predictable pattern to the fall of mankind. Men begin with God's blessing. God is Lord and men submit to Him. But certain men want their own way and they fall into rationalistic humanism and evolutionism. In this way they make God obsolete. Now corruptable man is lord.

Christian scholar, Dr. Arthur Custance has researched and written many books supporting the Genesis record of the dispersion from Babel, with the nations carrying with them around the world both the remnants of the true religion and also the false humanistic 'evolutionary' religion of Nimrod. He wrote:

"From high cultures and low cultures the same picture emerges. It is a picture of a remarkably pure concept of the nature of God and His relation to man being gradually corrupted on one hand by rationalizations which resulted from the gradual substitution of man's own thinking in place of revelation and on the other hand by superstition which stemmed from ignorance and forgetfulness of the original revelation." (Morris, p. 295)

The fall continues. Now with each man his own moral maker, moral relativism and its evil spawn---hedonism, betrayal, vengeance, loss of trust, murder, theft, paranoia, hysteria, hypocrisy, and all manner of lawlessness fueled by will-to-power become the way of life:

"How important is this issue (moral relativism)? The issue of moral relativism is merely the single most important issue of our age, for no society in all of human history has ever survived without rejecting (moral relativism)." (A Refutation of Moral Relativism, Christian scholar Peter Kreeft)

The downward spiraling trajectory continues with man proclaiming himself god and seeking psychic powers through spiritual encounters. Now the spirits begin to speak and godless men invoke their help. But the spirits dominate and men must appease them, as was the case in ancient Babylonia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome as well as in modern-day India, where some people still sacrifice their children to fire-demons.

Universally recognized as one of the greatest scholars in his field, Oxford Professor Stephen Langdon (1876-1937) thoroughly analyzed the ancient religions of Sumeria, Assyria, and Babylonia. He wrote:

"In my opinion the history of the oldest civilization of man is a rapid decline from monotheism to extreme polytheism and widespread belief in evil spirits. It is in a very true sense the history of the fall of man." (Morris, p. 293)

Once known as Christendom, W. Europe is today a spiritual graveyard because the Spirit of God has departed from that place. Other spirits have come in however, and now W. Europeans are increasingly involved in occult spirituality. And it is just a matter of time before the same doom befalls America:

"Too many North American churches are well on their way to becoming the same spiritually dead museums as Western European churches." (Spiritual Warfare, Dr. Karl Payne)

Depending on which side of the political spectrum they stand, Americans either blame Obama or perhaps Boehner or Gingrich as well as politicians in general for the sorry state of affairs driving America to the brink. Buchanan however knows that it is because vast numbers of Americans have fallen away from God the Father that America itself is in free-fall. In his summary he says that it is Americans themselves who "are killing the country they profess to love and the fate that awaits us if we do not turn around, is what “Suicide of a Superpower” is all about."
