In the German magazine "Focus," sociologist Gerald Eberlein was quoted as saying, "....research has shown that people who are not affiliated with any church, but who claim they are religious are particularly susceptible to the possible existence of extraterrestrials. For them, UFOlogy (the study of UFOs) is a substitute religion." (Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the Evolution Connection, Gary Bates)
Science, science fiction, belief in extraterrestrials, obsession with the paranormal and evolutionary thinking in conjunction with a whole host of fallacies is for increasing numbers of Westerners, including Christians, a fascinating, even obsessive, substitute religion.
Ronald Story, editor of "The Mammoth Encyclopedia of Extraterrestrial Encounters" pointedly observes that science fiction is our myth, and science our religion. He adds that media influences play a large part in these circumstances.
Toward that end, National Geographic will be fueling obsession with science and extraterrstrials with a new series, "Chasing UFOs," which premieres Friday, June 29, 9 PM.
Investigative journalist Leslie Keen, author of the 2011 book “UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record,†writes that in about 90 to 95 percent of UFO sightings, observers turn out actually to have seen weather balloons, ball lightning, flares, aircraft, and other mundane phenomena. But another five to 10 percent of sightings are not so easily explained and she argues that the hypothesis that UFOs are visitors from other worlds,
“is a rational one, and must be taken into account, given the data that we have.â€
Some of the most compelling evidence for that hypothesis is the long, documented history of sightings. UFOs have been around at least since the time of Alexander the Great. The first account of a UFO sighting in America was back in 1639, when Massachusetts colony governor John Winthrop noted in his journal that one James Everell, “a sober, discreet man,†and two other witnesses watched a luminous object fly up and down the Muddy River near Charlestown for two to three hours. There are documented sightings of sightings of what were then called “airships†during the 1800s as well, such as the July 1884 sighting of a Saturn-shaped UFO (a ball surrounded by a ring) in Norwood, NY, and a fast-moving object that briefly hovered over the startled townspeople of Everest, KS in 1897. Prominent UFO researcher John Weldon has concluded that there is no evidence whatsoever that any UFO crafts originated from outer space. None have ever been detected entering our atmosphere from outer space because they are already here. Some way and some how they appear to be emmanating from our own planet. Additionally, though UFOs have been fired upon numerous times by American, Russian, and Canadian pilots, not one has ever been brought down. Though they are visible, yet they do not seem to be real physical entities bound by the same physical laws as the rest of our material/natural world. As for 'aliens' themselves, they seem able to live and breathe in our atmosphere without the aid of respiratory devices. And though they are sometimes willing to be seen, they nevertheless do not appear to want to make open and friendly contact on a large scale.
Respected UFO researchers Hynek and Jacque Vallee say that though UFOs appear to be tangible they,
"...can change shape before our eyes, vanish in a Cheshire cat manner, seemingly melt away in front of us, or apparently "materialize" mysteriously before us without apparent detection by persons nearby....We must wonder too, where UFOs are "hiding" when not manifesting themselves to human eyes." (Bates, pp. 155-156)
In his book, "Scientific Mythologies," James A. Herrick traces the 'aliens from outer-space' idea back to certain Renaissance astrologers, occultists, and mystics such as Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772) who claimed to not only receive telepathic secrets from spirits but to have visited populated planets during out-of-body experiences. Swedenborg described one of these spirits as a glorious being of light.
From antiquity, spirits calling themselves Secret Chiefs, Familiar Spirits, Angels and Ascended Masters is a common theme in the annals of history and has been the origin of many religious, prophetic and occult movements throughout the centuries.
From the time of Swedenborg to our own these spirits have contacted many people, including the Russian theosophist Madame Helena Blavatsky and her disciple Alice Ann Bailey. Blavatsky received revelations from a Transcended Master (highly evolved spirit) and formed the Lucifer Publising Company in New York City in 1920 for the advancement of Luciferian beliefs. Blavatsky's "Secret Doctrine" is revelatory of the "enlightenment" she received telepathically from her spirit Master:
"When the Church, therefore, curses Satan, it curses the cosmic reflection of God ... In this case it is but natural ... to view Satan, the Serpent of Genesis as the real creator and benefactor, the Father of Spiritual mankind....For it is he who was the "Harbinger of Light," bright radiant Lucifer, who opened the eyes of automaton (Adam) created by Jehovah, as alleged; and he who was first to whisper, "In the day yea eat there of, ye shall be as Elohim, knowing good and evil" -- can only be regarded in the light of a Saviour. An "adversary" to Jehovah ... he still remains in esoteric truth the ever loving "Messenger"... who conferred on us spiritual instead of physical immortality." (The Secret Doctrine, Volume I, page 414, Vol II, pgs. 234, 235, 243)
Alice Ann Bailey was first contacted by a spirit calling itself Master Koot Humi:
“He told me there was some work that it was planned that I could do in the world...and that I would travel all over the world and visit many countries, "doing your Master's work all the time" ... He added that He would be in touch with me at intervals of seven years apart.†- Unfinished Autobiography, by Alice Bailey, 1951, Lucis Trust, pp. 35-36
The encounter with her second Master, Djwhal Khul, occured in 1919. Between 1919 and 1949 (her death), she produced twenty-four books, nineteen of them supposedly written by her Tibetan Master DK (Djwhal Khul). During the intervening years, Alice Bailey worked out what she referred to as "The Plan" the results of which have influenced the birth of many New Age groups such as The Church Universal and Triumphant, Benjamin Creme's The Tara Center, the Robert Muller Schools and The Temple of Understanding.
Today these spirits pass themselves off as extraterrestrials and call themselves the Council of Nine, Space Brothers and ancient Ennead of Egypt. As the Nine they are exerting a very disturbing influence on hundreds of thousands of devotees worldwide. Their disciples include scientists, multi-millionaire industrialists, leading politicians and world leaders within the United Nations.
The influence of the Nine is vast. Like Leviathan it criss-crosses all around the planet. Their influence either affects or speaks through Russian scientists, the Esalen Institute which runs the US branch of the Gorbachev Foundation, the United Nations, Hollywood, science fiction, Neale Donald Walsh, the wildly popular "The Secret" featured by Oprah Winfrey, Gene Roddenberry of Star Trek fame and a vast interlocking network of channelers (mediums) at every level of society.
French astrophysicist and UFO researcher Jacque Vallee has concluded that what takes place through close encounters with UFOs
"...is control of human beliefs, control of the relationship between our consciousness and physical reality, and that this control has been in force throughout history...." (Alien Intrusion: UFOs and the Evolution Connection, Gary Bates, p. 158)
In other words, "aliens" are deliberately effecting a spiritual transformation of their human contactees as well as causing them to be receptive toward "extraterrestrials," spirit-powers, signs, wonders and manifestations. UFO entities are perpetrating a massive deception.
The striking similarity between modern "alien" abductions and ancient accounts of demons was not lost on UFO researcher John Keel. Keel wrote:
"Demonology...is the ancient and scholarly study of the monsters and demons who have seemingly coexisted with man throughout history. Thousands of books have been written on the subject, many of them authored by clergymen, scientists, and scholars, and uncounted numbers of well-documented demonic events are readily available to every researcher. The manifestations and occurences described in this imposing literature are similar, if not entirely identical, to the UFO phenomenon itself. Victims of demonomania (possession) suffer the very same...symptoms as the UFO contactees...The devil and his demons can, according to the literature, manifest themselves in almost any form and can physically imitate anything from angels to horrifying monsters with glowing eyes. Strange objects and entities materialize and dematerialize...just as the UFOs and their...occupants appear and disappear, walk through walls, and perform other supernatural feats." (Bates, p. 260)
Kurt Koch (1913-1987) is considered by many researchers as one of the foremost experts on occult spirituality and spirit contact. Koch described UFO "aliens" as the devil's elite troops, the heralds of the coming Antichrist:
"They often step out of their invisibility by means of materializations to create the greatest possible confusion (and) they turn up in ever greater concentrations as we approach the time of the return of Jesus." (Occult ABCs, p. 342)
Their obvious purpose is to destroy faith in Christ and procure souls for the kingdom of Satan.
