Satan’s favourite time of year

Cue the fog, the flaming landscape and the horned, fiendish being with the eerie red glow. Halloween is approaching and there are bound to be loads of devils out trick or treating.

The fascination of both young and old with Satan might be more evident on Halloween, but the prince of darkness is something that many people have used across centuries and cultures to help explain our existence.

Which is why Lorenzo DiTommaso, associate professor and chair of the department of religion at Concordia University, teaches a popular History of Satan course that looks at his origin and evolution, from biblical to modern times.
