"We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves..." Isaiah 28:15 There is nothing new under the sun. From the beginning, men have been rebelling against the true God and taking refuge in lies:
"Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront and contempt of God." He "changed the government into tyranny" in order to turn them away from God and make them dependent upon his own power. He also would be revenged upon God "if he should have a mind to drown the world again; for that he would build a tower too high for the waters to be able to reach!" And he would "avenge himself on God for destroying their forefathers." (Jewish historian Josephus cited in" Who was Nimrod?" Dr. David Livingston)
"We have to use any ruse, dodge, trick, cunning, unlawful method, concealment, and veiling of the truth." V.I. Lenin, God-hating Darwinist, mass-murderer, and progressive liberal anti-hero. (The Marxist Goliath Among Us, Ronald J. Lawrence, p. 28)
"I suppose the reason we leaped at the origin of species was because the idea of God interfered with our sexual mores," confessed Sir Julian Huxley, former president of UNESCO and grandson of Darwin's colleague Thomas Huxley. (Henry M. Morris, The Troubled Waters of Evolution, Creation-Life Publishers, 1974, p. 58)
We objected to Biblical morality "because it interfered with our sexual freedom," said Aldous Huxley in agreement. (Aldous Huxley, Ends and Means (London, 1946), pp. 270-273)
"I do not want to believe in God," confessed Dr. George Wald, Nobel Prize winner and professor emeritus of biology at Harvard University. "Therefore I choose to believe in that which I know is scientifically impossible, spontaneous generation arising to evolution," said Wald in a Scientific American magazine article. (“Why academics embrace evolution†Marylou Barry quotes scientists who still wear ’21st century powdered wigs,’ WND, 02/12/2009)
"We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health and life, in spite of the tolerance of the scientific community for unsubstantiated just-so stories, because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism. It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that materialism is an absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door." ("Billions and Billions of Demons," Richard Lewontin (b. 1929), PhD Zoology, Alexander Agassiz Research Professor at Harvard University)
Today Westerners and Americans are entangled and increasingly isolated within a massive and still growing web of falsehood, and evolution said CS Lewis,
"is the central and radical lie in the whole web of falsehood that now governs our lives..." (Letter to Bernard Acworth, Spt. 13, 1951)
In his masterpiece, "Ideas Have Consequences," early intellectual Conservative Richard Weaver traced the first threads of the web of falsehood to the late 14th century when Western man made an "evil decision" to abandon his belief in transcendent, eternally unchanging "universals" and thus the position that "there is a source of truth higher than, and independent of, man..." The consequences of this revolution were catastrophic, for
"The denial of everything transcending experience means inevitably...the denial of truth. With the denial of objective truth there is no escape from the relativism of 'man is the measure of all things." (The Conservative Intellectual Movement in America, George H. Nash, pp. 30-33)
Corruption deepened and the web expanded as the downward spiral continued:
God would be conceptually murdered, Heaven shut-down and nature itself elevated to the supreme reality. The doctrine of original sin was abandoned and replaced by the "goodness of man." The physical world of the senses was held to be the only reality, the Genesis account was dehistoricized and replaced with evolutionary cosmogonies claiming spontaneous generation and vast ages of time. As supernatural Christianity declined, rationalism and then Protestant (pantheist) Liberalism arose and materialist evolutionary science became the most prestigious way to study man. With knowledge limited to the sensory realm, Jesus Christ would be reduced to an immanent force or energy within nature and man's spiritual attributes---soul, mind, conscience, and will---were soon lost in an endless cycle of reductionism and determinism. Man, created in the spiritual likeness of his supernatural Creator would be lost. In his place would stand the soulless human ape, an accidental emergent product of nature and mindless evolutionary forces:
"Darwinism came at the desired time; Darwin's theory that man is the descendant of a lower animal destroyed the entire foundation of Christian dogma. " (Anton Pannekoek, Marxism And Darwinism, Translated by Nathan Weiser. Transcribed for the Internet by Jon Muller, Chicago, Charles H. Kerr & Company Co-operative Copyright, 1912 by Charles H. Kerr & Company)
Today a new inquisition is being conducted by a snarling, frothing pack of rabid scoffers, skeptics, ridiculers, and other God-hating destructive criticizers. They have two ends in mind. First, to protect and defend the lies which are their refuge---the whole web of falsehood in which they have hid themselves---and second, to psychologically punish, beat and batter all who profess faith in the transcendent triune God, the Genesis account of creation ex nihilo, His created order of being, moral absolutes, resurrection, heaven, hell and His Truths and promises of eternal life in Paradise.
In his article, the "Left's Newest Inquisition: Deny Your God or Be Declared Unfit," Shawn Mitchel writes that only weeks after election 2012 and years before election 2016, in a routine interview,
"...a glossy pop magazine popped Florida Senator Marco Rubio with an oddball question: How old do you think the earth is? Rubio responded a bit clumsily and noncommittally. Smelling blood and opportunity, the wolf pack bared fangs and chased. Their game is either to force Rubio to affirm a personal belief the earth is 4.5 billion years old---or to mock and stigmatize him and others who could harbor any delusional uncertainty—damaging him with a different part of the electorate. The snarling pack imposes a totalitarian demand: No matter whether you’re intelligent, you engage the real world, you offer solutions to problems, and you attract and persuade citizens to support your vision and solutions; the pack demands to know if you have any hidden reserves of unsavory, illogical faith. Deny it or be tarred and marginalized." (Mitchell, Townhall.com, Nov. 26, 2012)
Yesterday's lies are todays factual "truths," hence evolutionary naturalism is true and the earth is 4.5 billion years old claim scoffers, ridiculers and the rest of their snarling cohort.
But true science can know nothing about events that occured before time, life, conscious awareness and death even existed and spontaneous generation was disproved over one-hundred years ago by the respected scientist Louis Pasteur just three years after Darwin published his book "On the Origin of Species:"
"... Darwin's celebrated tome On the Origin of Species, which had been published just three years before Pasteur's experiments, sought to discredit the need for God to create the species by showing how one species can transmute into another. But Darwin's account left open the problem of how the first living thing came to exist. Unless life had always existed, at least one species — the first — cannot have come to exist by transmutation from another species, only by transmutation from nonliving matter. Darwin himself wrote, some years later: 'I have met with no evidence that seems in the least trustworthy, in favour of so-called Spontaneous Generation.' Yet, in the absence of a miracle, life could have originated only by some sort of spontaneous generation. Darwin's theory of evolution and Pasteur's theory that only life begets life cannot both have been completely right." (The Fifth Miracle, 1999, p. 83, Paul Davies (b. 1946), Director of BEYOND: Center for Fundamental Concepts in Science)
Davies naturally hoped that spontaneous generation (abiogenesis) might eventually prove true. But after more than one hundred years of combining inert chemicals in the vain hope that life might finally emerge, Davies and many other naturalists have abandoned abiogenesis in favor of panspermia.
Panspermia is the idea that life on earth was accidentally seeded by meteorites containing the essential building blocks of life or perhaps by highly evolved extraterrestrials who for billions of years have been guiding the evolution of man. The extraterrestrial idea was favored by Arthur C. Clarke in his book, "Childhood's End" and a variation on this theme has recently been advanced by Davies, Francis Crick, and Ralph Pudritz of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. (Fall of mankind, L. Kimball, Renew America, June 20, 2012)
In a general sense, France’s preeminent contemporary philosopher Andre Comte Sponville speaks for all contemporary Westerners who--being uncomfortable with or outright offended by Jesus Christ God incarnate--- have hidden themselves in a whole web of lies.
In his international bestseller, “The Little Book of Atheist Spirituality,†Sponville confesses that though he knows the triune God exists “straight up†(outside the space-time dimension) he is nevertheless offended by Jesus Christ God incarnate Who said:
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me." John 14:6
Having rejected Jesus Christ, Sponville has rejected eternal life in Paradise. All that is left for him is the whole web of lies (i.e., spontaneous generation and evolutionary naturalism) along with the self-deceiving idea that,
“We are already in the kingdom. Eternity is now.†(p. 206)
Wittingly or unwittingly, Sponville and the whole legion of rabid God-hating scoffers have made a covenant with death, and "with hell are we at agreement."
